A magical moment is captured by photographer Mark Shaw in the salon of Balenciaga in Paris in 1954. Here a model poses for American buyers from I Magnin department store in Balenciaga's signature Orange Coat. This image is an outtake from an assignment taken by Shaw for LIFE magazine in 1954.
American photographer Mark Shaw (1922- 1969) is most renowned for his iconic photographs of the Kennedy family taken during JFK's White House years. This print is one of a series taken by Shaw early in his career when he was doing significant work in the fashion world. This work is available exclusively through the Andrew Wilder Gallery at Svenska Mobler and is made available through our work with the Mark Shaw Photographic Archives.
